Education/Background: Gloria Tianne Lastra attended Newcomb College in New Orleans, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Philosophy and Psychology in July 1995. She received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Tulane Law School in New Orleans in January 1998. Ms. Lastra holds a Certificate of Advanced Study and Training in Commercial Arbitration, is fluent in Spanish and conversant in French.

While studying at Tulane Law School, Ms. Lastra was a Civil Law Representative of the Student Bar Association and was an Associated Student Body Representative. Ms. Lastra was also employed as a law clerk with in-house counsel at Entergy Corporation, where she worked in several different areas of law, including employment law, personal injury law, and corporations law. Following her admission to the Louisiana bar in April 1998, Ms. Lastra was employed by Griffith, Conroy and Battard, L.L.C. and primarily practiced in the field of medical malpractice insurance defense. Ms. Lastra joined SSR in September 1998 and primarily works in the areas of premises liability, product liability, worker’s compensation defense and general commercial litigation.
